Oprah Winfrey Without a doubt Oprah Gail Winfrey is the best person in the world. She has been a great inspiration for many people in the world and still is. She has prospered in life greatly as she had gone through poverty and abuse as a child. Oprah Winfrey was born on January, 29th, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She had earned a scholarship to the Tennessee State University, where she majored in Speech Communications and Performing Arts. Oprah graduated from the Tennessee State University as an honors student, as she was always very gifted in school. In January 1984, she came to Chicago to host WLS-TV s AM Chicago, a staggering local talk show. In less than a year, she turned AM Chicago into the hottest show in town. The show soon grew to one hour, and in September 1985 it was renamed The Oprah Winfrey Show. Where it went national on September 8, 1986, The Oprah Winfrey Show† surely became the number one talk show in national confederacy in less than a year. In June 1987, in its first y ear of being able to participate, The Oprah Winfrey Show received three Daytime Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Host, Outstanding Talk/Service Program and Outstanding Direction. In June 1988, The Oprah Winfrey Show received its second consecutive Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Talk/Service Program, further more she herself received the International Radio and Television Society s Broadcaster of the Year Award.
